BUSINESS PARTICIPANT TRACKING SYSTEM
Challenge:
The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Growing America Through Entrepreneurship (GATE) project is an evaluation project designed to investigate the impacts of providing microenterprise start-up services to interested individuals. The GATE project assists people in creating and expanding small businesses. There are GATE I, GATE II, and GATE III projects.
Solution:
In GATE I and GATE II, WSI developed and maintained a participant tracking system. WSI was responsible for day-to-day operations, system monitoring, data backup, and security, in addition to creating an automated system to synchronize the participant database between a public data collection site and internal databases for North Carolina and Alabama. In GATE III, WSI developed a tracing system to trace the latest contact information of individuals.
Benefits:
Secure data collection, monitoring, backup, and storage of program data. Automated database synchronization eliminates manual data entry errors and enables effective participant data management. Maintaining up-to-date contact information enables timely communication of program information with participants.
Technologies:
Linux, Tomcat, JavaScript, SOA, .NET, C#, SQL Server, & Oracle
